SITE PREPARATION

WARNING: During installation, Stretch PVC Material is heated using compressed gas leading to a temporary rise in room temperature and a decrease in oxygen levels.

Site preparation must be complete prior to technician’s arrival. If assistance is required, appropriate arrangements must be made in advance, otherwise the installation will be delayed at owner’s expense.

Toronto Stretch Ceiling is not responsible for any accidental property damage as a result of non-compliance to the site preparation guidelines.

PREPARATION GUIDELINES

The installation site should be cleared of all furniture, electronics and wall décor. Any tall and/or large furniture (i.e., bookcase, wardrobe… etc.) that cannot be removed from the room should be shifted away from the walls to allow access for profile installation and covered with non-plastic material to prevent accidental heat damage.

Any items made from thin plastic (i.e., wall and window corners) should be sealed with masking tape.

NO pets and plants should be in the room during installation, as there is significant risk of permanent damage due to overheating.
Any electrical work must be complete by a licensed electrician prior to the installation of Stretch Ceiling and/or Wall Murals. The amount and type of light fixtures should be pre-negotiated during the concept design stage of the project, although additional light extensions can be added during installation provided that the necessary electrical wiring has been pre-installed.

It is crucial to inform the technicians about any wires, pipes, ventilation systems and other hidden communications inside the walls, as they may be accidentally damaged during profile installation if technicians are not made aware of their presence.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Finish all planned renovations (i.e., painting, plastering, laying tile, mounting panels, cutting wood…etc.) prior to the installation of the Stretch Ceiling Material. Although work can be done to the premises after the Stretch Ceiling installation, any debris that settles on the material may be difficult to clean off, which may permanently impact the visual appearance of the ceiling.

Carpet floors should be covered with non-plastic material to minimize the amount of dust attaching to the material during installation. If necessary, Toronto Stretch Ceiling technicians will provide floor covers and/or clean the floors from any dust prior, during and after the installation.
